It’s a Man Thing

Apparently, it isn’t important if you name a time to do something and do it 5 days later. So I’m reliably informed. ‘Men don’t worry about such things‘ he said. ‘Men don’t need to do things when they say they’re going to do them. ‘I’ll ring you Wednesday” doesn’t necessarily mean that Wednesday will be the day. It might be Friday but in the world of men, that isn’t relevant. Friday is just as good as Wednesday… because it’s really the same thing.‘ Hmmm!
I’ve been exasperated by this manly attitude on numerous occasions.
“I’ll fix your washing machine don’t buy a new one.” Six months later I still have a washing machine that doesn’t work. In fact… the whole drum has been taken away to repair so I don’t even have the choice of putting it back together again myself and me poor knuckles are raw from hand scrubbing…
“I’ll be there at 6pm” … so you have dinner ready for shortly after 6 only to have the one who named the time show up at 9pm and then complain because things are a bit dried up.
Is it because ALL men have some sort of genetic defect that makes their sense of timekeeping and reliablility dysfunctional or is it just the ones I know?

Okay! I promise never to do my face in makeup as below.

I’ll leave a great answer to this on Friday…
I was going to reply yesterday but couldnt decide what it was I was going to say. So I thought about for a bit longer and then forgot what I was doing. Now I’m from the back of beyond, (somewhere near the Londonderry/Donegal border) and the philosophy over in these parts is… if you miss the bus, don’t worry, there’s another one along on Friday. So the moral of the story is.. Relax.. chillout.. just be thankful the phone does ring eventually and who knows.. maybe one day you’ll get your ‘bearings’ right and you’ll be able to bang that ‘drum’ of yours….
I haven’t noticed this particular fault in men Caroline - probably because I do exactly the same kind of thing - I don’t think unreliability is gender specific!!! The main thing I wish I could change about men is the manic staring at football/rugby/snooker when I want to speak to them - my Dad does this as well as most guys I have ever known…still it relates to your comment about the ideal man not existing - we wouldn’t want him if he did because us girls love to have something to complain about!!!!
when all is ideal in this world, it would be sad for much people.
Lame Excuses and Ball Sports are both there…. yep!
Midlife Crisis ???????not nice to have, but it happens .
Hardly a mid life crisis if it lasts from puberty until death!
