Spring has sprung

Clocks have finally gone forward to extend the all important after office executive golfing hours and we are once again in sync with the hub of the universe…. the US of A… who deem to do their daylight saving in advance.

An uneventful week of work has passed leaving nothing but heavy footprints of knackeredness all over my carcass. Therewith I have spent the last couple of days in a stupor or asleep. This afternoon being so springlike, I felt compelled to make the effort to participate in breathing fresh air and managed to drive all the way to Portavogie where I threw sticks for the dog on a beach full of Canada Geese all making that goosey sound of contentment. I stopped for a rest on the way back in Ballyhalbert and watched three maniacs in the tide on jet skis. Five minutes of that was more than enough. Home and bed was calling me…

I think I need some of this stuff.

Twitter - kill a few minutes

twitter logo

While on my morning tea break I decided to browse the public timeline at Twitter. These are from Jiang Zemin and for some reason, made me laugh.

Yangzi river is very cold today. I think we can see frogs again. They
love listen to my playing piano.

I’m in love

I passed one of these yesterday in Newtownards. Needless to say it was parked or I fear that a 2 ton van would have had little chance of overtaking it. It’s not often that a car turns my head but this one certainly did. It doesn’t need to be set in some photogenic location to stand out. Parked outside a grotty petrol station is just as good. I’m only sad that the traffic behind me didn’t want to linger and gaup as much as I did.

Size is everything

I cannot praise highly enough the largeness of the transit van. While I may have been a little timid before I bought one, now that I’ve had some time to get used to the capacity, I fully appreciate the extra space, sensibly huge steering wheel, large wing mirrors and the ability to see over the hedges and in through peoples living room windows. It’s wonderful. Not only that…. but other road users take to the hedges when they see me coming. I don’t need to give way…. not one inch. Nobody argues with big.

This Week

My workbench all but disappeared beneath the chaos that is, no storage space. I think I have almost outgrown the utility room.

Not Again

and let this be an end to it or I shall take my toys and go home!

  • I once endured Billy Joel singing More than a Woman to Me 13 times every hour on the hour on a flight to LA
  • I’ve had a famous guitarist over for tea. (name dropping is naff)
  • I dislocated my little toe on the wall of a sauna
  • I once sent a little cousin into a nettle bed to pick flowers for his mammy
  • I stole half a crate of shandy (the whole crate was too heavy) when I was 10
  • For the epidemic now under way from what was merely described by Ed as a nasty outbreak I can only wish for the next five from Cybez.
